Phase 1: Mapping, selection of localities and networking

1 ) Selection of study sites. As this is a pilot and validation process, localities were chosen with contrasting characteristics and proximity to CERES, the centre of operations. The selected locations were: Melosillas and Quepilcho, in the town of Casablanca; and Quebrada Alvarado, in the town of Olmué.

2 )  Mapping geographic territories, definition of the territory and identification of key features (public areas, roads, natural or cultural attractions) to facilitate access to and identification of the area.

3 )  Networking, through initial discussions with key informants and gradual extension of this network, making possible a social network analysis that allowed us to determine the feasibility of implementing Phases 2 and 3 of the methodology in each locality.
